As the QA Program Manager, you will be a key member of the PA site Quality Leadership Team (QLT) and responsible for coordinating processes and resources to identify process improvements.

The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine. Our product is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia has about 140 full-time employees and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility has about 5 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK and other countries. Operations continue year round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May - August).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and deployment of the AZ Strategy and Scorecard objectives for the Quality organization. Helps establish departmental objectives ensuring alignment with Corporate/Site Goals, and departmental budget.
  • Leads all aspects of the project portfolio for the Quality organization, as well as act as project manager of key strategic projects/programs. Optimally track and reports project management information and resolve risks in project delivery.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders, such as the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Operational Excellence (OE) team, to drive continuous improvement and site objectives.
  • Develops existing tools and processes to identify areas of improvement and ensures business continuity of the function.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to tackle complex problems within a variety of scenarios.
  • Coaches of staff in the practical application of lean and six sigma tools and techniques.
  • Coordinates resources to ensure the analysis of performance and quality critical metrics.
  • Improves business processes by applying the Business Process Management (BPM) framework to set priorities, balance resource workload, support/empower decision making, and build optimized process networks.
  • Becomes actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.
  • Utilizes Lean principles and approaches such as problem-solving, 5S, and visual management.
  • Develops and disseminates internal communications. Prepares documents and supports campaigns used in internal communications.
  • Employs expertise in internal communication to optimally disseminate strategies, policies, and other key information to appropriate functional areas.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt (or higher) with formal training
  • 3-5 years or more work experience in a manufacturing environment demonstrating lean leadership
  • Working knowledge of the DMAIC process and Lean Tools such as SMED, Kaizen Blitz, 5S, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating teams and groups in process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience in managing small projects/programs in a similar role
  • Well-developed organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects


Desirable
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) with formal training
  • Effective internal consulting skills with all levels of management.
