The Purchasing Manager for Agriculture Wholegoods manages the purchase of high complexity production parts for AG Segment commodity group. Wholegoods Products are managed and/or sourced within the CNH purchasing department, but the actual production is completed by an external OEM or Contracted Supplier. The product is then shipped direct to the requested dealer per a PO request.

This position will be responsible for leading purchasing function in line with strategic company direction for the assigned Agriculture Wholegoods Products pertaining to Commodity Purchasing, Advanced Purchasing, Procurement, and Aftermarket. It is eligible for a flexible hybrid work model and is ideally located in or near Burr Ridge / Oak Brook, IL.


  • Manages all purchasing activity for multiple Global Product Platforms.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Strategic Sourcing Specialists.
  • Programs: Support function for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies through leveraging parts for new platforms to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives.
  • Support the Current Product Manager and Margin Improvement Team in the early supplier involvement to facilitate and speed up the introduction of changes requirements to improve the final Customer Experience.
  • Creates, forecasts, and carries out sourcing and tooling plans in conjunction with Central Purchasing to ensure product launch meets all program targets for quality, cost, and timing.
  • Accountable for all direct material cost of the current product and new product.
  • Increases supplier value through R&D, co-design, and innovation.
  • Has decision making authority on all sourcing decisions for new product and is a voting member of Product Development Platform for milestone approvals.
  • Manages negotiation and implementation of all technical modifications.
  • Drives the identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Leads commercial negotiations, implementation, and manage LTA's (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings and raw material recovery in order to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives and while supporting organizational initiatives.
  • Facilitates supplier/engineering VA/VE activities in order to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives to achieve budget performance.
  • Responsible for Parts & Service management for these associated products.
  • Supports Material Management, Lifecycle, and Sales and Marketing to achieve cross-functional targets related to revenue, margin, delivery, and quality
  • Supports Mergers & Acquisitions team in evaluating new opportunities for CNHi.
  • Internal Customers supported: Global Product Platform, Commercial Brands, and Parts and Service, Mergers & Acquisitions.

Annual base salary range for the position is $109,000 - $183,000 USD. (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct, indirect or advanced purchasing experience to include analyzing, selecting/recommending, approving and auditing suppliers for different product platforms within a multi-plant manufacturing environment, based upon supplier capability relative to designing, supporting, quality and manufacturing, contract negotiations including long term agreements, developing and implementing commodity strategies, mitigating supplier delivery, cost, and relationship issues.
  • Three years of leadership experience (with at least 2 of these years having direct reports).
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel (to include pivot tables and v-look ups).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% - domestic and international (majority of travel will be domestic).
