Onward Search is hiring a Proofreader/Editor for a national retail client with offices just outside of Tampa, FL.

Note:


This is a 6-month contract position that has the potential to extend for a second 6-month term, and then possibly go perm.
This role is 50% on-site and 50% remote. You MUST be ok with working on-site 1/2 of the time.


Summary:

The impact this position has on the company is to ensure that the Company's brand is protected and in compliance with legal, trademark, and branding guidelines.

Responsibilities:


Proofreads all creative materials and provides editing expertise
Reviews communications to assure they meet strategic briefs, align with channel strategy, and are consistent and complete
Fact-checks as required
Protects the Company's reputation by ensuring that all creative materials are grammatically correct and free from errors in spelling, composition, spacing, punctuation, and typography while also compliant with legal, trademark, and branding guidelines for the Company and its partners


Qualifications:


Self-motivated team player capable of working effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Familiarity with AP and other style guides
Fact-checking and research experience
Excellent grammar and communication skills
Proficiency in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Office
