As an integral part of the Regional Operational Excellence Group at Fugro, the Americas Project Management Office (PMO) was established to provide wide-ranging support to all of the Business and Service Lines across the region. This includes providing best practices and training as well as coordinating project management support roles on selected projects. Come join our growing team of project management professionals!

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Develops and maintains standard project (cost) control processes and procedures.
  • Develops project cash flow forecast.
  • Prepares the project budget upon contract award (based on the as-sold budget).
  • Establishes and Maintains project coding WBS structure in Fugro systems (IFS, etc.)
  • Prepares monthly project reports for project managers, reflecting the projects' current financial position and estimates at completion. This includes ensuring alignment with project schedules, committed costs and reconciliation to the financial system.
  • Analyses variances from As Sold to Current Estimate At Completion (EAC) by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecasts.
  • Performs scenario analysis at request to support decision-making.
  • Assists project managers in the validation of commercial and schedule components.
  • Ensures forecast variances are communicated to the Management to enable corrective actions to be taken when and where necessary.
  • Ensures all costs incurred are directly attributable to a budget item which can be done either by revising the existing budget or through the assignment of new cost codes to unbudgeted items during the project phase (following Management of Change processes as necessary).
  • Manages client invoicing and payment process; prepares and issues all project invoices and maintains invoice register up to date; reports any late payments or issues to the project manager for resolution.
  • Provides commercial or data analysis for the preparation of tenders by working closely with the proposal managers and tender teams.
  • Prepares the Revenue Reconciliation monthly.

Job Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or financial management or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in project (cost) control.
  • Effective communication across different function groups and with senior management.
  • Proactive personality with the ability to identify financial risks and opportunities and provide remedial action.
  • Positive approach to work. Flexible to change.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of Project Accounting.
  • Excellent financial acumen and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Prior experience in Energy Sector is preferred.
