Red Lion Controls, an operating company of Spectris, is undergoing a period of significant change and growth. Red Lion has historically been dependent on a wide network of distributors to reach its end customers. With plans to triple in size over the next three years through both organic and inorganic growth, the Program Manager will be responsible for aligning product management and engineering development with strategic business projects through a Phase-gate process.

Reporting to Senior Program Manager the Program Manager provides product and technical support through engineering process alignment with product management and engineering. The incumbent will work hand-in-hand with Regional Engineering Managers, Sales Reps, the Sales Engineering (Field Application Engineering) Team, Product Management, Marketing, Finance and Engineering to ensure smooth execution of projects involving new product development, customer specific feature development and sustenance of released products. This position will also need to work with third party design partners in driving the project execution as per the plan and within the set budget limits.. This position would require the sound knowledge and experience of leading product development project.. The Program Manager will need to travel to corporate offices and customer sites periodically.

Essential Job Functions

  • Drives the program management function for key new products under development includes schedule management, cost management and risks management - continuous improvement on delivery performance
  • Owns the product development phase gate process through end to end engagement on medium to large scale projects opportunities by working with cross functional stake holders (technical support, product management, marketing, and design engineers)
  • Develops project plan by working with different engineering stakeholders involved in the project and tracks, reports the project performance on weekly basis.
  • Maintain project collaboration and documentation - Create and distribute multi-level communications and status reports (core team, extended team, executive team)
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly documents and/or reports for management/business review
  • Schedules and/or attends meetings and coordinates logistics as required
  • Prepares program/project documentations such as presentations, reports, etc.
Minimum Requirements and Critical Behaviors
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electronics, Electrical) or applicable experience in lieu of education required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in leading END-TO-END life cycle of the products [multi-disciplinary]
  • Experience in usage project planning, tracking and status reporting tools like Microsoft Project Plan, JIRA, Agile,.
  • Prior experience in New Product Development Phase Gate Process strongly preferred
  • Due to the nature of large-project opportunities, the Program Manager will be interfacing with key leadership personnel throughout Red Lion. Therefore, comfort around leadership and solid, concise communication skills are critical.
  • Ability and willingness to expand on existing expertise levels as needed to support Red Lion's core initiatives.
  • Excellent Presentation, oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and anticipatory skills.
  • Effectively and efficiently interface with all levels of Company management and staff, customers and outside business contacts
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while multi-tasking
  • Ability to work and function independently in a team environment with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to travel, up to 25%, domestic and international
  • Experience with Industrial Automation Applications: HMI, I/O, Controls, Communications (Protocols) strongly desired
  • Familiarity with IIoT, WAN (Wired and Cellular), and Cloud connectivity preferred.
