Description
The Program Analyst will be primarily responsible for monitoring data related to clinical and non clinical programs offered within the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. The person in this role will also examine/evaluate current programs to determine their effectiveness, identify areas of concern and recommend changes/best practices to address the areas of concern as they relate to public safety and security. Hiring rate of position: $46, 263 - $64, 948 annually, based on experience

Location of position: Lincoln, NE

Examples of Work
Determine program evaluation needs, design and implement research plans and timelines. Collect qualitative and quantitative data through various means; select and modify evaluation and data collection methodologies as needed; analyze data, interpret results, and summarize program outcomes into meaningful findings that can be uses to inform policy decisions. Identify, develop and present training to agency staff and service providers to enhance program delivery and sustainability. Monitor the quality of data collection related to clinical and non-clinical programming, and create electronic reports for program staff.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework/training in program evaluation, financial analysis, and research techniques, AND experience performing or leading others in program and technical support, research or statistical analysis.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, sociology, public administration or psychology. Experience preparing reports of original research findings for large-scale dissemination. Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software, as well as MS Office Suite. Experience conducting program and implementation outcome evaluation research independently within, or in partnership with, a criminal justice agency. Experience in data collection and managing large datasets.

OTHER: Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully-paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Training Program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, Word) required; Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence preferred
