In just the past six years, our company has grown by nearly 70%. We have an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor, at its Franklin Park, IL facility. The Production Supervisor has the responsibility of overseeing the manufacturing line and assisting with improvement projects while reducing operating cost. The primary role of the position is to produce a product safely that meets production specification and customer expectations, strong leadership skills, and the application of Lean Manufacturing principles. This position will primarily for 3rd shift, work 5-6 days per week including weekends as scheduled/needed. Required to work 40 to 50 hours per week depending on workload.

Pay Range: $57,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year

Primary Job Responsibilities:

* Supervise activities of Production staff.
* Direct and coordinate activities associated with the production department including scheduling adequate staff to run and operate the line.
* Supervise all plant safety rules and regulations and provide safety orientation and training.
* Document yearly performance reviews on employees.
* Document incident, disciplinary action, accident/injury reports when needed.
* Assist in developing job procedures.
* Inspect material for quality defects.
* Develop and monitor 5s procedures.
* Work with the temporary agency to staff the production line with temporary employees as needed.
* Assist in training of all team members. Develop training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are properly trained in any position that they are assigned.
* Substitute for other supervisors and production manager when required, due to vacation, off-site meetings and absenteeism.
* Daily focus on continuous improvement, reaching and exceeding KPI's using lean manufacturing tools.
* Communicate department daily results and maintain/exceed production performance requirements
* Ensure safe/Proper disposal of non-useable raw materials or finished goods.
* Maintain acceptable machine utilization
* Maintain acceptable scrap rate
* Produce product according to specifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

* High School diploma or equivalent is required; post high school education strongly preferred.
* Candidates must have a minimum of 5-10 years of related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred, or at least the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
* Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications along with SAP knowledge is desired.

Education & Experience Requirements:

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required: post high school education strongly preferred
* Experience: 5-10 Years Leadership or supervisory experience
* Language: Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Essential Full Performance Knowledge:

Knowledge and Certified in Lock-out, Tag-out Program.

Leadership and Supervisory skills

Knowledge and certification of all production positions

Basic computer skills (E-mail, Excel, Word, SFIS, etc.)

Knowledge of production schedules

Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment as well as the plant's general safety policies

Understanding the impact of sending the incorrect or defective product

* Essential Full Performance Knowledge:Essential Full Performance Skills:

* Reading - Shipping orders, Supervisor audits, incident reports, accident/injury report, disciplinary reports, production schedule etc.
* Math -Production related times and related measures of efficiency, square feet, pressures calibration of line speed etc.
* Writing - Documented reviews, disciplinary actions, incident/injury reports, scrap reports and forklift inspection sheets, etc.
* Good Communication Skills
* Computer Skills - Basic knowledge, Excel, E-mail, SFIS and batching program
* Operation of Measurement gauges - Tape measures, caliper, heat sensor device etc.
* Forklift Operation
* Problem solving skills
* Ability to identify possible quality defects
