Location: La Crosse, WI
Salary: $60,000.00 USD Annually - $80,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
National food processing company in La Crosse, WI is seeking a Production Manager to oversee their meat processing/packing operations over first shift. Candidates must have relevant experience within USDA production environments. This is a ~10 hour - 45-50 hours a week opportunity for someone looking for that next opportunity of growth for their career.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
• Monitor daily production activities, adjusting schedules as needed to meet production targets.

Quality Control:

• Establish and enforce strict quality control standards and procedures.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.

Inventory Management:

• Manage inventory levels to ensure products are readily available to meet customer orders.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and implement strategies for inventory optimization.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise, mentor, and motivate production staff, ensuring they work efficiently and safely.
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for production employees.

Cost Management:

• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Manage the budget for the production department effectively.

Maintenance and Equipment:

• Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment.
• Schedule preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Communication and Reporting:

• Provide regular reports on production metrics to senior management.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate activities and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Business, or Industrial Engineering) preferred.
• Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in the meat packing industry.
• Strong understanding of meat packing processes, food safety, and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in production planning and inventory management.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
