This is a remote position; the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.

Within GM, the Customer Experience (CX) organization focuses on providing world class customer experiences and maximizing the value delivered within our new product launches, at our dealerships, and within our digital channels. The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) operates to provide analytics, data and business intelligence support to businesses across the company. At the intersection of these two, the CDAO business facing team leverages both business and technical knowledge to deliver value to CX. This position will partner with the business to deliver data and analytic support to CX, Voice of Customer initiatives, and customer journey improvement projects. A critical component of the role is to deliver insights that enable strategic decision making and future investment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to develop plans for analytic projects that solve business problems and can be operationalized to drive tangible business value.
  • Translate the needs of business customers to technical requirements for Data Scientist, Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams - this means knowing enough of both the business side and technical side to be effective, diving into data as necessary.
  • Help create work related to strategy, roadmap, critical metric definition, reporting and dashboards.
  • Support analytical projects from conception to completion with high velocity and quality, be cognizant of status, roadblocks and pace of project throughout and intensify as necessary to ensure success and on-time delivery to business partners.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and 'tell the story' that enables strategic and operational decisions.
  • Mentor others and handle project finances.
  • Continuously enable to new solution trends and develop the skills for self and enable the practice to build the skills.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualification:
  • 7+ years of experience translating business needs to analytic solutions, influencing decisions through turning raw data into compelling stories, and completing the project life cycle through achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Proven experience with complex data and analytics projects as the primary liaison.
  • A proclivity for quantitative concepts, including academic/professional experience in one or more of the following fields: computer science, mathematics, finance, statistics, physics, engineering, biostatistics, cognitive or neurosciences, behavioral economics, econometrics.
  • Ability to develop & maintain relationships with business partners, partially through accountability, following up on requests and delivering on commitments. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project success.
  • Thrives in a collaborative atmosphere and believe in the power of innovation through differing viewpoints.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new domains and understand business needs.
  • Strong business domain knowledge - customer experience, customer journeys, marketing research, business analytics, sales/marketing analytics.
  • Expertise in creating and deploying reports with industry leading BI tools such as PowerBI or Cognos.
  • Expertise with programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or the Hadoop platform and the suite of Hadoop development tools.
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience working within an agile development environment, preferably SAFe Agile methodology
  • Experience working with customer experience platforms, like Clarabridge or Medallia
  • Advanced Analytics: Hands-on experience with predictive modeling, segmentation, AI/ML and other advanced methods.

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $109,283.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
