Global Merchant Lending (GML) Product Organization is responsible for curating and delivering best in class lending products and experiences to the PayPal merchant community at scale. GML product manages end to end lifecycle of the lending product. It starts with empowering customers to apply for the eligible lending product, assessing the credit worthiness of the customer when they apply to final phase of Collections if they go delinquent.

About Role:

As a Technical Product Director in GML Product team, you will be responsible for building scalable and fundamental capabilities that enables growth, minimize credit and fraud losses and delight merchants.

The ideal candidate is expected to
  • Understand business needs, end to end customer experiences when building key capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, at times with minimal guidance and ambiguous data to create actionable insights
  • Ability to work with multiple set of engineering teams in an agile environment
  • Ability to work with highly cross functional, global, diverse stakeholders
  • Understand business centric measurement & strategy and echo relevant product/executional strategy
  • Understand the evolving merchant lending industry
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching

Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities
  • Product feature analysis, planning, and execution through the entire product life-cycle. This would include gathering and prioritizing product requirements, requirement analysis, working with development teams as product owner to lead implementation using agile methodology, and working closely with all the stakeholders to make sure all their business requirements are met.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate product road map, project status, and issues to accounting operations, executive management, and other stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Be the liaison between Product, Business and Engineering units and be the primary representative of GML in the respective location.
  • Building and integrating new products and teams in the region as well as enablement of GML capabilities
  • Engage closely with engineering and architecture in Agile methodology to help determine the best technical implementation/design while balancing time-to-market needs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams at PayPal and external partners to design, build, launch, and market new payment capabilities
  • Use A/B Testing, analytics, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive decision making
  • Define andproactively monitorkey performance metrics to support and inform product decisions. Engage in problem solving with analytics to determine trends and root causes.
  • Partner with Customer Support teams in solving pain points for our users.
  • Partner with Legal, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure the products we deliver are within regulatory boundaries.
  • Define a product launch plan for your area, including identifying new opportunities as well as maintaining a rolling marketing roadmap of projects or iterations.

Minimum Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a BE is required, MBA or MS preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of experience dealing with technical problem solutions as a product manager.
  • Proven track record for building, launching, and maintaining high-scale, successful products
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and verbal
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, ability to multi-task
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, Can-do approach, curious and open minded
  • Tech savvy and loves to stay on top of industry trend
