Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the project team to develop medical device manufacturing processes
  • Work closely with technical team to build critical prototypes and pre-production units to meet customer requirements and timelines
  • Responsible for R&D level process documentation (document processes, materials, and inspection results)
  • Transfer and release R&D level documentation to a released state in quality documentation system
  • Drive process selection and development based on customer provided requirements
  • Inspect finished units and record data using Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Apply strong technical skills in a cleanroom environment
  • Train and support operators working on complex Development projects
  • Participate in customer discussions and reviews

Education and Experience

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in medical device technician role (2-3 years of medical device operator experience a plus)

Skills and Abilities
  • Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a self-motivated and ambitious individual that also has the skill set to work effectively on a team
  • Candidate must have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and quickly changing work environment
  • Candidate must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have exceptional hands on technical skills and experience directly related to catheter manufacturing (liner stretching, braiding, braid cut back, polymer reflow, etc.)
  • Highly motivated to learn new technology and processes
  • Focus on quality
  • Knowledge of both braided shafts and balloon catheters a plus
