Inspire is on the hunt for a Product Design Manager wi th a passion for e-commerce, who can transform complexity into clarity, and who leads by doing.

ABOUT THE WORK
This role is directly responsible for ushering in next generation experiences for our portfolio of brands. The Product Design Manager will work hands-on across our full suite of brands and platforms, directly mentor other designers, and assist product design leadership in evolving our enterprise design system. As our first design team manager role, individual responsibility for this role is high, but impact and reward are huge.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help designers embed effectively within their teams.
  • Manage work output across multiple lines of business to ensure portfolio-wide consistency and quality of experience.
  • Lead estimation, coordination, and capacity planning for all UX team activities.
  • Mentor designers on effectively conducting discovery, validating concepts through research, analyzing outcomes of product experiments, developing heuristics playbooks that help inform product roadmaps.
  • Assist their team in creating design artifacts: sketching, wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design.
  • Develop team capabilities in designer-led UX research.
  • Evangelize accessibility and content-first solutions that have UX, visual, and interaction excellence.
  • Coach designers on pairing with development teams during the build phase to reduce design churn.
  • Generate qualitative career development for designers within their team.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

  • 7+ years experience in a lead, senior or team manager role.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Experience leading a team of 2+ other designers and/or researchers. Experience starting or evolving UX practices within an organization. Online portfolio of digital product work that has shipped to real users.
  • Develops knowledge of competitive, comparative, complementary products. Stays on top of new UX theory, but starts from practical, proven approaches.
  • Experience driving designer-led research.
  • Preferred experience working in agile, test and learn product environment.
  • Expert in the modern UX tool belt; we use Figma, Lucidchart and Usertesting.com.
  • A confident communicator, a design thinking facilitator, and a capable negotiator.
