Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CVD Process Engineer to become a part of our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. This position will be located at GlobalFoundries in Malta New York, and report to the Fab8 Process Manager with the primary responsibility of owning specific semiconductor toolsets as assigned by the Manager.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Improve process robustness for high volume manufacturing using statistical tools, Design of Experiment techniques, data driven decision making and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to development of new technologies, and transfer of those technologies from development to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Implement controls and procedures for preventing quality excursions.
  • Support the manufacturing line by working with Maintenance teams to define action plans to fix down equipment and improving equipment uptime
  • Support engineering and development activities to achieve the desired cycles of learning
  • Work on continuous improvement projects to optimize processes with regards to process stability, tool speed and wafer yield.
  • Help establish and execute specific department plans and strategies to support the fab to achieve manufacturing objectives, including cycle time, line yield, equipment efficiency
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs, using Lean Manufacturing practices to improve productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Support Fab's efforts in building a world class organization, achieving manufacturing excellence and establishing a team based collaborative culture.
  • Utilize risk management and problem-solving skills eg. FMEA, DMAIC, 8D.
  • Mentor and train technicians on shift in order to support quality and delivery metrics for 24x7 fab operations
  • Engage in proactive teamwork to support cross functional milestones through collaboration with quality, equipment, integration and operations engineering teams
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or closely related discipline
  • Years of Experience: No experience required
  • Please indicate % of travel: >5% travel required
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands - Must be able to work per semiconductor industry and GlobalFoundries protocol/requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Engineer internship or Co-Op experience; manufacturing or semiconductor industry
