Position Summary

Intern - Process Development will assist Process Develoment Engineers with developing and establishing product manufacturing processes. This includes the support for maintaining, upgrading and new production processes and machinery by interfacing with product engineers, quality engineering, shop floor personnel, control engineers, drafting, lab technicians, and outside vendors

Principal Responsibilities

1. Support and upgrade production, production processes, including molding, extrusion, tipping, printing, and assembly. Provide support on introductions of new processes and control methods into manufacturing as well as to create best practices in product development.
2. Develop robust and capable processes for new and existing manufacturing products. The document, validate, and determine standards for them.
3. Plans, Develops and Executes Process and Test Method Validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) in accordance with Teleflex (Arrow) procedures.
4. Prepares or reviews documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness using engineering tools and templates were available (i.e. validation documents, specifications, manufacturing procedures, ECOs, and technical reports or analysis summaries).
5. Consult with Teleflex and non-Teleflex engineers, technicians, draftspeople, and manufacturing personnel regarding machine design, process/product design tooling/fixturing, and production problems.
6. Interface with product engineering to design and develop new or modified products.
7. Interface with manufacturing and lab technicians to develop new tooling and machines.
8. Coordinate, specify build, validate/revalidate, and troubleshoot machinery.
9. Participate in project teams, including attending project reviews and writing progress reports.
10. Train personnel such as other engineers and technicians in the use of new equipment, processes, and documentation.
11. Design and execute process capability studies for processes.
12. Aid in creating cost and feasibility studies.
13. Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex's Code of Ethics all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Education / Experience Requirements

Working towards BS in Engineering or equivalent (Mechanical or Plastics)

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Must be able to apply engineering concepts, original thinking, curiosity, cause and effect, and ingenuity to solve problems.

• Must have demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail

• Must have demonstrated ability and experience to balance and multi-task multiple engineering projects and programs.

• Understanding of polymer materials properties and the application of these principles.

• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MiniTab & SolidWorks

• Knowledge and experience in designing and performing Design of Experiments (DOE) desirable.
