YOUR ROLE


Cambridge Consultants is a technical consultancy with hundreds of world-class engineers. We take on a large variety of challenging projects with a focus on delivering breakthrough innovations. As an embedded software expert and lead, you will help create the next generation of medical devices ranging from electromechanical drug delivery systems to consumer health care and health monitoring applications, class C implants, and surgical robots including visualization and navigation systems. Each project is a new opportunity to learn and deliver.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Engage with clients to gather requirements and needs for new projects and work with them to gain an understanding of how we can help them from both a software and a systems perspective
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to architect systems and solve complex client needs
  • Lead teams to develop software systems and deliver high-quality code
  • Execute rapid prototyping in support of proof of principle activities
  • Perform tests, code reviews, and other quality assurance tasks
  • Support Business Development and Project Management activities by supporting the bid process, schedule creation, and team formation
Lead and support internal efforts to develop new technology offerings

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

MUST HAVE:
  • BS In Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar field
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 10+ years of relevant experience developing software systems
  • 3+ years of experience in a software leadership role
  • Experience leading software development for medical devices in compliance with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971
  • Embedded C++ experience
  • Experience with embedded real-time operating systems, for example QNX
BONUS POINTS:
  • Experience with robotics or motion control
  • Experience with medical device connectivity and cybersecurity
  • Experience with wireless systems such as Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.
  • Experience with software and system modelling with UML or SysML
  • Previous experience in a consulting company
  • Embedded Linux kernels and drivers, device trees, and build systems experience
