Northrop Grumman is looking for a top-notch, focused, and dedicated Embedded Software Engineer to join our team of engineers at the Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) Support Center located in Rolling Meadows, IL. The QRC Support Center supports and maintains laboratory test stations, transportable flight line electronic combat system test sets, and airborne RF and IR systems.
What you will do:
Design, develop, document, debug and test software applications and computing system software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products.
This position may be filled as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer or a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for Principal Embedded Software Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
• 5+ years embedded software engineering experience with related BS degree/ 3+ years embedded software engineering experience with related MS degree
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance
• Experience dealing with performance optimizations in a symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) environment in a multi-core CPU system
• Documenting software design using Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Experience programming with C# for user interface enhancements
• Software testing/debugging in a laboratory environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong team building skills, and be comfortable working on a team with other engineering disciplines.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
• 9+ years embedded software engineering experience with related BS degree/ 7+ years embedded software engineering experience with related MS degree
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance
• Experience dealing with performance optimizations in a symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) environment in a multi-core CPU system
• Documenting software design using Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Experience programming with C# for user interface enhancements
• Software testing/debugging in a laboratory environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong team building skills, and be comfortable working on a team with other engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the design, development and test, or sustainment of airborne electronic systems
Experience with VxWorks and Linux operating systems
Familiarity with version control software (SVN/Git)
Experience with common Linux IDE debugging environments- such as Eclipse.
Current/Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
