About OnStar Insurance

OnStar Insurance was launched in 2020 and will be in all US states by end of 2021. OnStar Insurance Services intends to leverage its unique understanding of the vehicles GM produces to offer a secure, fair, personalized and easy-to-use insurance experience for drivers. GM has the largest connected vehicle fleet worldwide. In the US alone, there are currently 9M+ connected GM vehicles on the road and that number is projected to triple in the next 10 years. More than that, the OnStar system currently has access to over 900 data points from the vehicle. This surge in information about vehicles and how they are driven will revolutionize auto insurance. About the role

OnStar Insurance is currently looking for an individual who is obsessed with empowering drivers to understand their driving behavior and take control of their driving safety and insurance price. You will work with the senior product manager on the design and delivery of the personal auto insurance product features, coverage, forms, rules, and rating. The top candidate will be adept at the discipline of product management including a data-driven approach to balancing customer need, technical solutions and business strategy to develop and deliver on a product vision.

  • Work with senior product manager to build pricing and coverage product strategy and roadmap
  • Create, manage, and adapt product roadmap to meet quarterly objectives/KPIs
  • Perform competitive, regulatory, and customer research to inform product strategy
  • Partner closely with analytics team to communicate product vision, define and design required analyses, problem solve analyses, and prioritize team backlog

This is a remote position. The selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mathematics, computer science, actuarial science, statistics, business, or other related discipline
  • Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and rolling out personal lines insurance product features, coverages, rates, rules, and forms
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Has led day-to-day of work with teams that consist of statistical modelers, data scientists and/or actuarial analysts
  • High level of interpersonal skills (oral, written, and presentation) to work effectively with a variety of different groups, and a strong commitment to teamwork and partnerships
  • Business and technical acumen
  • High ability to manage ambiguity
  • Highly organized
  • Learning agility

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Experience in Emblem and Radar
  • Experience working in Agile delivery model
