Job Summary

This position will be primarily responsible for mid-senior level actuarial processes to support strategic department goals related to pricing, ratemaking, and data reporting.

Main Accountabilities

  • Prepare actuarial rate indications and submit rate filings for a variety of commercial property/casualty insurance products
  • Develop analytical tools and perform analyses to monitor underwriting results, make recommendations to improve profitability, and solve ad hoc business problems
  • Gather data to complete financial and regulatory compliance data calls
  • Assist in the development of actuarial pricing models; identify and suggest improvements
  • Build domain knowledge of commercial insurance
  • Communicate results to actuarial leadership team
  • Collaborate with other actuaries, data scientists, and other team members
  • Pass actuarial exams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or a related field
  • Four actuarial exams to ACAS
  • Three to six years' experience in an actuarial role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Commercial lines insurance pricing experience
  • Coding and/or predictive modeling skills

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $171,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Benefits Highlights:

Employees who meet benefit eligibility guidelines and work 30 hours or more weekly, have the ability to enroll in Group 1001's benefits package.
