Job Title: -- Heavy Equipment Operator (IP GT) in Georgetown, SC

Job Summary: --

The Heavy Equipment Operator role will be operating equipment such as backhoe, skid steer, bulldozer, and forklift in heavy traffic or tight quarter settings. Working conditions include restricted movement, intense noise, extreme temperatures, dirty environment, lifting or carrying heavy objects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates heavy equipment safely
  • Communicates with workers by hand signal, radio or verbally
  • Verifies equipment is operable
  • Services and performs general and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • At least 3 years of experience as an HEO (former training and certification records should be supplied at the time of hire).
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation techniques.
  • Skill in heavy equipment operation.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Possession of a current driver's license required.
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
  • Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
