Job Title: Electrician Journeyman

Job Summary:

The Electrician will perform as a skilled mechanic in the constant improvement of maintenance, fabrication, and repair of electrical equipment. Electrician will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Properly diagnose, replace or repair parts of equipment utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, removing and replacing components on equipment. Must be able to solve problems by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary.

Estimated length of assignment: 3 months

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the Constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of electrical panels, lighting and Motors.

Qualifications:

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D
  • Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
  • Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings.
  • Have a valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in conduit bending.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic computer skills
  • Have a complete set of electrical, and fabrication tools appropriate for maintenance and repair
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas
Working Environment & Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders (step, extension, cage) up to 24' high.
  • Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes.
  • Able to work from a standing position for 8-12 hours.
  • Ability to twist and bend on a recurring basis.
  • Weather conditions that can be expected are wet, humid, heat and cold, bright/dim light, traffic, heights, dusts, and pollen.
  • The job requires normal visual acuity, field vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
  • Some environments are in a high noise and vibrating area.

Preferred experience:

5+ years industrial electrical experience

Technical school training for PLC
