Job Title:Post Doctoral Scholar

The Physics Department, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The Post Doctoral Scholar will work as part of a team exploring the coupling of magnetism with topological insulators via spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The Scholar will have an opportunity to work closely with team members specializing in epitaxial growth and magnetotransport theory, and will play a leading role in connecting these efforts with atomic-resolution structural and magnetic imaging. The Postdoctoral Scholar will benefit from committed faculty mentors, and will be encouraged to mentor students and develop mentorship and professional skills through campus workshops. The Post Doctoral Scholar will be encouraged to write papers in research journals, and develop professional networks through travel and presentations at conferences.

Minimum Education Required

Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in physics

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in physics with specialization in the appropriate area of physics for the intended studies.

Additional Information:The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The College values diversity and offers a supportive, open, and inclusive community.The target hiring range is $48,000-$60,000 annual.
