Job Description

GPI is seeking a Plumbing Engineer/Designer for an immediate opening in either of our Springfield, VA, or Rockville, MD offices. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of Domestic Water Distribution, Sanitary/Waste/Vent, RO/DI Water Distribution, Lab Gas Distribution, and Fuel distribution systems
  • Review code related items with engineers to ensure compliance
  • Develop and monitor plumbing work plans in conjunction with PM
  • Write new specification sections; develop new details, as required for project needs
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours
Qualifications
  • 4 years Bachelors Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or a 2 year technical or associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Construction Technology, Mechanical Technology, or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing design as it pertains to building systems
  • Current working knowledge of Revit is required (experience preferred)

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
