Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of plastic surgery, with a focus on gender affirmation. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or foreign equivalent or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of medical students and plastic surgery residents.

Clinical responsibilities may include building a gender affirmation surgical practice, but also incorporate other areas of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. The gender affirmation practice will include both adult and adolescent patients.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science investigations in the field of plastic surgery and, specifically, gender affirmation.

Applicants who have completed an accredited gender affirmation surgery fellowship will be preferred. The successful candidate will have primary duties at Penn Medicine's flagship, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and secondary duties at the renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
