Basic Job Functions

We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the pivotal role of Plant Manager at Nucor Fastener in Shelbyville, IN. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to safety, a relentless drive for results, and a keen focus on optimizing both cost and quality. Reporting directly to the Vice President/General Manager of the division, this position offers a prime opportunity to make a significant impact. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Active participation and leadership in the division and in the enterprise safety efforts
• Responsibility for the leadership and oversight of the operational functions within the manufacturing department including staffing, throughput, scheduling, and cost management.
• Lead, model, nurture, and advance the Nucor culture.
• Actively lead, mentor, and develop a high functioning, cohesive production leadership team
• Ensure strict adherence to Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures and regulations.
• Drive the implementation of new equipment and processes as part of our continual improvement process.
• Willingness to relocate.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five (5) years supervisory, management, or formal leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years supervisory and/or management experience within the fastener, automotive, or steel-related manufacturing industry
