Role description:

The Plant Manager is the leader of the local manufacturing site. This role is responsible for providing proactive equipment machinery support for all capital project and plant needs, focused on improved performance on parts supply and leadership on the management of spare inventories.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment while complying with environmental regulations and food safety standards
  • Ensure machine equipment is supplied to Ardagh quality standards and within customer specification
  • Build customer relationships through regular communication and delivered quality
  • Lead departments to optimize performance in all aspects of the business
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture around collaboration between plants and their equipment needs
  • Champion people development, training, employee engagement, and advancement at all levels of the plant organization through servant leadership
  • Partner and share best practices with business segment peers to drive overall company performance improvements
  • Perform administrative responsibilities necessary to effectively manage the facility
  • Leverage project expertise to provide guidance surrounding plant needs and best practices and reducing waste by doing the right practcies at the right time
  • Drive favorable P&L results through the items the plant controls (i.e. productivity, labor cost, spending)

Minimum skills / qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field or significant industry experience
  • Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience with a proven track record of successful team building
  • Great communicator with effective organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred skills / qualifications:
  • Master's in engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • IS machining proficiency
  • Glass container or other glass manufacturing experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
