Overview
The Physician provides clinical and professional support to the areas of Occupational Health Services (OHS). This role involves working collaboratively with the Nurse Practitioner to provide occupational health care, health education and the promotion of optimal health to Princeton University employees. This may occur at the time of application for temporary disability, on fitness for duty evaluation, or in the course of a worker’s compensation injury or exposure. The Physician also provides guidance and supervision as well as clinical services for the Medical Surveillance Program that includes Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, UHS staff health status medical clearance, CDL driver examinations and medical compliance for laboratory researchers and employees entering animal facilities. The Physician will encourage and assist patients to take an active role in following through with their personal physician. The partnership will minimize the impact of impairment on the individual’s capacity to participate competitively in the work environment, with the goal of reduction in disability and lost workdays.
