The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman is currently accepting resumes for the position of Personal Property Tax Supervisor.

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Manages the performance and operation of the Personal Property Tax department.
  • Responsible for allocating and maintaining the Property Tax state assignments.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of tax bills and renditions.
  • Approves Fleet Trak cases, check requests and journal entries as needed.
  • Coaches and mentors employees with a focus on skills and career development.
  • Oversees the training on onboard of new and existing employees.
  • Oversees the reconciliation of department subsidiary accounts.
  • Monitors staff's ability to achieve Property Tax goals.
  • Provides guidance/assistance where necessary and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Responds to escalating internal and external customer issues, determine root cause and implement mistake-proofing measures.
  • Supports new client implementations and client calls as needed.
  • Works with programming to ensure that the department is maximizing productivity and new processes are implemented as required.
  • Develops and maintains the appropriate controls to ensure that payments are made accurately and that there are no duplicate payments.
  • Provides support for inventory and records management.
  • Updates and maintains departmental policies and procedures to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Relevant Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience or knowledge of property tax concepts and practices related to various jurisdictions.

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced work environment.
  • Applies management expertise to improve efficiency and accomplish operational objectives within own area of responsibility or department.
  • Sets priorities for employees to meet daily deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives.
  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgement.
  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager.

Communicating & Influencing Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of employees and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements.
  • Effectively coaches, gives performance feedback, and may provide development opportunities for a shift, team, or unit.

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $81,210.00 - $117,760.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
