CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as a People Resources Intern. This position will support the People Resources Team, and report directly to our People Resources Project Manager. Our intern will play an important role in supporting a wide range of projects related to onboarding, training and development, tracking and analysis, the internship program, and more.

Additionally, the People Resources Intern will:

  • Support internship recruitment activities such as drafting job postings and descriptions, screening resumes, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating meetings and interviews
  • Provide support for the employee experience, including the new hire experience and employee wellness
  • Assist with our transition of HRIS systems, including full audits of HR systems, creation of new modules, outlining standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Partner with team to create, analyze and maintain accurate HR reports
  • Upload and track information in the HRIS system and Share Files
  • Act as the ongoing liaison between People Resources Team, leaders, and employees
  • Support with employee inquiries and requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Completed at least 3 years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or other related fields
  • Prior work or project experience in Human Resources, Business, or other related fields
  • Professional experience in scheduling and recruiting
  • Knowledge of different HR systems and databases (ATS, HRIS, etc.)
  • Prior experience handling and maintaining confidential information and records
  • The ability to balance work independently in a fast-paced, remote work environment while collaborating with a high functioning team
  • Exceptional presentation (PowerPoint and Canva), verbal communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Minimum commitment of 30-40 hrs. per week
