Job Description Summary

Payroll Reporting/Metrics and Project Analyst is responsible for providing operational support to payroll team with regards to payroll audit compliance aligned with SOX as well as, project management subject matter expert/lead for small to mid-size projects. Ensures payroll audit processes are aligned with the strategic goals of the Company with regards to payroll audit compliance, as well as project analysis, reporting, and metrics. With an initial focus on automating the payroll audit process. This position requires an understanding of multi-state/multi-company payroll processing, as well as growth with regards to global payroll processing. Responsibilities include streamlining and automating payroll audit processes, both weekly and bi-weekly. This role also works closely with the HRIS Team and HR Partner Teams with regards to projects, as well as Peers such as Payroll Analysts and Specialists during payroll processing. Will function as a project liaison between the payroll department, HR, IT, and Field Operations. Duties related to this role require higher level payroll, reporting, and project knowledge and experience, requiring analytical judgment in the collection and evaluation of payroll data and making recommendations for process improvements and/or executing on project deliverables.

Job Description

  • Reviews, monitors, and automates payroll audits; aligned with SOX requirements
  • Detects inefficiencies or conflicts in systems and processes and helps to identify process improvements
  • Regularly runs audit reports and provides output to peers and Sr. Payroll Manager in a combined data presentation; to allow for more streamlined auditing during payroll processing
  • Partners with HRIS Team with regards to Employee Master Data and timekeeping data as sent downstream to payroll with regards to reporting out payroll KPIs and metrics.
  • Provides weekly updates to Sr. Payroll Manager regarding project work, including user acceptance testing and project deadlines
  • Escalate issues to management as necessary
  • Performs routine internal audits to ensure operational SOX Controls are achieved, in partnership with Sr. Global Payroll Manager
  • Provides guidance to other Payroll Team Members with regards to payroll projects
  • Participates in small to large projects, working closely with assigned project manager and team members from within and outside of the Payroll Dept. assists with determining timelines/milestones, leads and monitors user acceptance testing for payroll
  • Uses common business analysis tools and methodologies and must be able to apply them as needed to solve problems
  • Responsible for executing user acceptance test cases and thoroughly documenting test results
  • Serves as a payroll reporting subject matter expert and ensures operational excellence in payroll and time management systems for support of LW employees
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested

Education/Experience/Training:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Payroll experience
  • Past Payroll Analyst, or Reporting Analyst experience a plus
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Expertise participating in small to medium-scale (global or regional) project management of complex HR projects
  • Demonstrates Customer Obsession: Possesses strong business acumen and drives project management with customer interests as focal point
  • Proficiency in project planning methodologies, tools, and leading change through data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and discretion through ambiguous phases of project development
  • Proven ability to influence and drive results laterally and remotely-through HR and cross-functional colleagues. Ability to influence effectively partners and leaders of specialist central function teams (e.g. Compensation + Benefits, Payroll, HR Services, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates humility and openness to multiple perspectives in leading project decision making
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Adept at working in a fast paced, changing environment while serving the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be self-directed and work autonomously and deadline oriented with respect to key dates
