Phillips House 20 is a twenty-bed unit for adult patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. All patient rooms are private. The unit is located in the Ellison Tower.

Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Must be able to work a rotating schedule.

Hours:

32 hours, Day/Evening rotating shift, every other weekend

Qualifications
Current CNA certificate for Massachusetts andprevious experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

HS diploma or equivalent.
Effective customer service orientation and theability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient andpractice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communicationskills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
Ability to lift and transport patients, using theappropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
