Overview

Must be 18 years of age due to equipment.

Responsibilities

• Check writing on fabric to be sure it matches the accompanying paperwork.
• Perform all job duties following S.O.P. instructions and safety procedures.
• Dispense chemicals electronically from the chemical dispensing system.
• Check for face of fabric up or down and wet count.
• Help operator start the lot of fabric.
• Help winder start lot if needed.
• Help keep fabric running straight, notify operator of problems and defects.
• Maintain a good safety attitude and abide by all safety rules.
• Set tenter frame up from instructions on S.O.P.'s and any instructions from the shift coordinator/department manager.
• Fill out all production reports and papers required in processing the lot.
• Keep good communication with the crew while running in order to maintain first quality fabric.
• Inspect at all times when lot is running, record and report any defects.
• Push cabs loaded with fabric.
• Help perform weekly maintenance on tenter frame.
• Adjust knives to proper depth, adjust truck or beam tension to proper settings and adjust traction rollers.
• Should have a thorough knowledge of the following positions: Pad Tenter Operator, Entry Tenter Operator, and Delivery Operator.
