Advertised Job Summary:The Outreach Specialist oversees and manages the promotion of services offered through South Carolina Child Care Resource & Referral (SC CCR&R) under the direction of the SC CCR&R Director and in conjunction with the Community Engagement Manager & Communications Coordinator. Duties include providing information and materials about the services offered by SC CCR&R to families, child care providers, organizations, and the community through trainings, conferences, community events, and meetings. This position is home-based.
Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, education, business, or other related field with minimum of 2 years of work experience that includes any of the following: training, outreach, marketing, event planning, administrative roles, logistics, or development.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of marketing and outreach strategies, experience in public speaking, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills that include Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and web-based software applications. Ability to work some evenings and weekends. Ability to maintain reliable transportation to conduct outreach events, meetings, and community events and perform other job duties throughout the state. Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Job Duty:Responsible for the coordination and implementation of marketing and promoting the services of the SC CCR&R with a focus on educating families, child care programs, and the community about child care topics and issues. This includes working with SC CCR&R Director and other designated staff to develop outreach plans; coordinating with other SC CCR&R staff to schedule trainings, conference participation, community events, and seminars; and assisting in the distribution and inventory of marketing materials and promotional materials (including brochures, flyers, etc.) to promote SC CCR&R services.
