Description:

Position Summary:

Oral and Maxillofacial Assistant performs surgical assisting during procedures, set up of materials and equipment for procedures, exposes intraoral and extraoral radiographs, takes and pours patient
models, tracks laboratory cases, tracks implant component orders, processes instruments, maintains equipment and manages patient flow.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Procedure set up of materials and equipment and then breakdown and disinfection of operatory
  • Exposing intraoral and extraoral radiographs, panoramics and cephalografics
  • Taking and pouring of patient models
  • Clinical support duties: tracking laboratory cases and implant orders, processing of instruments, patient calls and other assigned duties
  • Surgical Assistant for patient procedures, including but not limited to:Implants, Extractions, Bone grafts, Biopsies, Incise & drain, Sinus lifts and Alveolplasty, jaw fractures and Arthrocentesis

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Preferred: Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2 - 3 years
of college

Minimum Experience:
Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
  • Certified Anesthesia Assistant (Oral)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Completion of the AAOMS Anesthesia Review Course. Achievement of the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Exam (DAANCE)

Computer Skills:
Required: Basic Keyboarding Skills
Preferred: Basic Keyboarding Skills, EPIC, Groupwise
Other: Dentrix or other dental software
