Goodwill SoCal has an immediate opening for a Data Analyst to partner with the Operations team to develop and continually evaluate the effectiveness of operational work and provide actionable reporting and recommendations. This critical role develops and performs complex business and system analysis work and manages data-driven projects to identify critical issues and develop solutions to advance operations. The Data Analyst recommends changes and new workflows, prepares reports and advices staff at all levels within the organization. This position is based at Goodwill's Los Angeles Campus and requires local travel to Goodwill's Southern California locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyses operational requirements and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  • Gathers information by observing workflows and analyzes company data.
  • Collaborates with team members across the organization to identify data-driven opportunities.
  • Supports maintenance and development of business intelligence tools, such as NetSuite and DOMO.
  • Determines appropriate methods to analyze operations, relevant information, and data.
  • Documents findings and prepares reports and dashboards that make complex data readily consumable to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develops and recommends new processes and procedures to enhance operations. Determines the effectiveness of new processes.
  • Works with senior executives, managers, and employees to recommend and implement changes.
  • Develops training to teach employees how to use new systems or follow new processes.
Education & Experience
A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university, with courses in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or Business Administration, required. 2+ years of relevant experience, such as data analysis, financial models, forecasting, and reporting. Strong Knowledge in NetSuite Administration, DOMO/BI Reporting, Adaptive Insights, AP Automation, Warehouse Management Systems. Advance knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills and the ability to abstract, collect, organize, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets, while looking for continuous ways of improvement. Experience in creating financial models, forecasting, and reporting with variance analysis.
  • Ability to drive process improvement.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and public speaking skills.
  • Strong people skills with abilities to partner with a dynamic leadership team and interact with all levels of employees.
  • This position requires travel (25% within Southern California). A valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance required. Background, drug screen and COVID vaccination required for employment.
