The School of Education (SOE) at the University of California, Riverside continues to develop its research and scholarly capacity through its nationally recognized faculty and maintain its place among the outstanding University of California institutions. We are growing steadily and seek highly productive and innovative faculty who are committed to preparing the next generation of higher education leaders and scholars. We invite applications and nominations for a tenure-track or tenured (open rank) position in the area of Higher Education Administration and Policy with a preferred focus on community colleges. The position will commence as early as July 1, 2022 or as negotiated.

The UCR Higher Education Administration and Policy graduate program seeks to prepare student affairs and postsecondary leaders who understand and work to transform institutional structures, policies, and practices contributing to inequities in higher education and society. The successful candidate will bring expertise and demonstrated capacity for conducting praxis-centered research addressing postsecondary barriers and challenges pertaining to the community college context. The preferred candidate will have a systems, organizational, or policy analysis, particularly reflecting on state and/or federal policy pertaining to community colleges that complements the work of current SOE faculty and expands our impact nationally and internationally. We seek candidates who can contribute to the growth and development of an increasingly diverse community of students, staff, and faculty committed to issues of equity, particularly racial equity. Preference will be given to candidates that utilize Black feminist epistemologies and/or focus on addressing antiblackness. We expect commitment to developing courses centered on community colleges that will expand the SOE's offerings; and excellence in quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentoring students from historically excluded and underserved populations.

Minimum Qualifications include: Earned doctorate in higher education or a related social science discipline, university-level teaching experience, and experience advising students. Salary and will be commensurate with an appointment within the University of California system.
