Are you ready to ignite your passion for sushi in an exhilarating new role? Join SUNSET SUSHI in partnership with the Sandbar at Newport Pier as an Omakase Sushi Chef and unleash your creativity! From sourcing the freshest fish to orchestrating unforgettable Omakase experiences, your talents will shine in our vibrant kitchen.

What you will be doing:

• Creating the daily Omakase menu
• Expertly slicing, dicing and preparing various types of seafood
• Creating exquisite sushi pieces, paying attention to aesthetics, texture and flavor.
• Engaging with your guests and providing details explanations of each course being served

Responsibilities

What you bring to the table:

• Mastery of traditional Japanese culinary techniques, particularly in sushi preparation, including knife skills, fish handling and rice preparation
• Understanding of various types of seafood, including their flavors, textures and seasonal availability
• Ability to create unique sushi dishes
• Attention to detail
• Refined palate to assess the quality and freshness of ingredients
