SUMMARY

The Duty Manager serves as a technical subject matter expert in support of delegated operational control responsibilities and flight control functions for all Amerijet International Airways (AIA) Operations flights. This includes the execution of flight release, flight following, arrival, and post-flight processing duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Acts independently and applies technical expertise to evaluate ongoing operations while working hand in hand with the Flight Operations team (and/or delegated representative) to ensure each flight is properly planned and executed.
  • Standardizes flight control procedures to the maximum extent possible to assure the accuracy and consistency of data related to the execution of AIA operational control functions.
  • Directs all teams in response to daily weather issues, fleet optimization, AOG recovery, cargo service recovery, high-profile trip coordination, and consultation on crew movement and changes.
  • Authorizes and redirects flight control resources to meet AIA Flight Program Operations priorities as well as maintains knowledge of the location of all AIA aircraft at all times during their flight mission.
  • Oversees and monitors all flights in progress, coordination of mission changes, priorities, and deviations necessary to ensure the most efficient use of resources while maintaining safety.
  • Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues which often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of the company's strategic objectives.
  • Ensures information is relayed to crewmembers and other constituent parties regarding all situations that arise, which may impact the accomplishment of the AIA scope of mission.
  • Provides quality control and ensures that Flight Followers and other team members continuously meet the qualification standards prescribed by AIA Company Policy, company and FAA directives, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Revises and updates technical manuals and procedures
  • Monitors operational and flight control procedures and makes recommendations to management for best practices.
  • Assures production and accuracy requirements, seeking ways to improve production or increase the quality of work directed.
  • Provides and oversees on-the-job training to subordinates.
  • Coach and mentor OCC employees through a variety of daily challenges to assess technical performance of the team members, provide input to the manager for further evaluation as necessary, and improve group performance standards.
  • Provides expert guidance and instruction, to address diverse, complex issues which often cross multiple projects, programs, or functional areas.
  • Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues.
  • Works with senior management to identify and jointly resolve problems.
  • Maintain open and effective lines of communication to ensure all appropriate departments related needs are met and considered.
  • Other duties as needed by the company.



QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
•Associates Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
•FAA Dispatcher License

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Comprehensive knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) requirements, current directives, FAA policy, organizational responsibilities, as well as AIA policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:
o3 years' experience in Dispatch management
o5 years of working experience in Flight Operations

Preferred Qualifications:
o5 years' experience in Dispatch management
o7 years of working experience in Flight Operations

TRAVEL

Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.
