As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Perinatal Technician supports the obstetrical team by functioning in the scrub role. He/She prepares sterile instruments for Cesarean sections, assists the team with verification process, with intra-operative procedures, and with case closure protocol. He/She responds appropriately to emergency situations. The Perinatal Technician works under the direction of the circulatory and is accountable to the Unit Director

Qualifications

• Experience Preferred/Desired
  • 1 year of LNA experience.
• Education Minimum Required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Special Skills Minimum Required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve the following competencies: Basic Life Support and OB technical training.
  • Completion of a hospital-based OB technician training program.
• Licensure and/or Certifications Required
  • LNA
  • AHA or ARC BLS
