Our Nursing Student Extern programs offer opportunities for excellent nursing students who have completed their basic med/surg coursework from an accredited school. Centura Health is committed to preparing tomorrow's nurses for success through strengthened clinical skills, enhanced critical thinking abilities and greater self-confidence and communication.

Provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with policies and procedures. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
*Qualified external applicants eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus! Cannot be a current or recent Centura employee to qualify. Minimum of 1 year experience required.*

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
* Basic computer skills
* Previous patient care experience preferred
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Successful completion of sufficient clinical nursing courses to have obtained competency in performing basic health care tasks, required
* Must have completed first 2 clinical nursing rotations of basic nursing program and completed the second year of nursing program
* Enrollment in an accredited Nursing program required. Must provide documentation at the start of each term. Any change in active enrollment status must be communicated immediately to supervisor.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
