Towson University is currently accepting applications for a Nursing Clinical Placement Coordinator. The incumbent coordinates administrative activities pertaining to clinical education, including but not limited to clinical placements, practica and precepted assignments. Manages clinical site coordination documentation, student records, accreditation compliance, and provides programmatic support. Collaborates with Office of General Counsel and clinical agency staff and liaisons to develop clinical site placement affiliation agreements. Other duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for coordination and scheduling of clinical placements for students; ensure affiliation agreements are current; work with program faculty and faculty clinical/course coordinators to identify, secure, document and track student clinical education placements. Ensures all mandatory clinical requirements are communicated with students and tracks compliance prior to placement. Works with faculty to ensure sufficient numbers of placements are available for clinical education. Maintains confidential faculty and student compliance files and program-based documentation for clinical education; supports electronic record keeping and utilizes various software platforms to manage and report data (e.g. CAHS Clinical Request System, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel, CastleBranch, etc.). Initiates and manages detailed communications with clinical agencies to confirm placements and assignments. May provide website support as part of the communication plan. Compiles, updates, maintains, and prepares records related to clinical placements. Prepares emergency contact spreadsheet for Dean's Office. Prepares files for annual reporting, national accreditation compliance and MD Board of Nursing approval as needed. Participates in new student orientation and clinical orientation to ensure student knowledge of clinical education mandatories and system documentation requirements. Collaborates with Chair and Assistant Chair to develop and implement student communication plan. Troubleshoots issues of non-compliance and reports outcomes to leadership and faculty. May need to resolve student non-compliance and potential conflict. Additional program and clinical education support duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; three years of related work experience. Ability to design and maintain spreadsheets and databases as required. Ability to understand clinical contracting process and assume responsibilities for managing compliance and meeting deadlines. Working knowledge of variety of software platforms and standard office equipment.

Preferences:
Baccalaureate-prepared Registered Nurse (RN), licensed or eligible for licensure as a RN by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Will consider applicants with Bachelor's degrees in other health sciences, health administration, human resources or business with three years' experience managing health or education related projects. Previous experience in higher education or nursing program support in clinical education and/or student placements.
