Overview

The Nurse Clinic Lead will be responsible for drafting policies and procedures related for Covid-19 vaccine clinics and the day to day management and supervision of the temporary vaccinator staff. The Nurse Clinic Lead will also, oversee proper and safe administration and documentation of vaccine in compliance with standing orders. This position requires evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities

Leadership/Management (60%)

    Drafts and implements policies, procedures, and protocols, as directedSupervises clinic staff including immunization nurses, including orientation and trainingSupervises entry of vaccine and immunization data to ensure compliance with state regulationDevelops, monitors, and evaluates staffing patterns to insure safe, effective, customer service and to maximize the productivity of vaccinator staff.
Administrative Management (20%)
    Administers and documents vaccines as indicated by policy.Monitors delivery of vaccinations to identify both expected and unexpected risk and participate in the development and implementation of patient compliance with all risk management and patient safety standards.Monitor and Track and provide clinic throughput information Participates in Vaccine Clinic Quality Assurance activities such as.
      Monitoring suppliesAppropriate use of current computer programs.Assumes responsibility for shift/staff coverage when needed.Works collaboratively and respectfully with other staff members.
    Practices Infection Control techniques per UHS policy and procedures.Promotes a patient-centered, customer friendly atmospherePromotes a supportive work environment.
Clinical Care (20%)
    Provide immunizations safely and efficiently, and document appropriately.
Performs other duties as assigned, within the scope of RN practice, at University Health Services.


Qualifications

  • NJ license as a professional nurse
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience
  • Ability to provide direction to vaccinators
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automate External Defibrillator (AED) certifications.
  • Clinical skills including the ability to perform physical assessment and provide care based upon clinical protocols.
  • Vaccine knowledge, knowledge of vaccine procedures and adverse reactions
  • Willingness to invest time in monitoring changes in a rapidly changing field
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer skills, ability to learn Princeton University Health Services programs and use EMR effectively
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the work day
