CUMULUS MEDIA | Bloomington is offering an exceptional opportunity for a News Anchor/Reporter at our heritage local News Talk WJBC-AM. Who We Are:CUMULUS | Bloomington curently features 5 stations in the central Illinois area and surrounding counties. Our stations include: WBNQ, WBWN, Nash Icon 93.7 and our heritage station WJBC-AM. The cluster of 5 stations reaches thousands of listeners on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• At Least 1 year of daily newsroom experience.
• Primary duties will be anchoring with some outside of newsroom along with writing and voicing stories, writing stories for the station websites and posting on social media platforms.
• Individual will perform various news duties as needed, with the potential of working late night or early morning hours.
• Familiarity with digital audio editing software required.
• Experience with long-form, breaking, non-scripted, long-form news and weather coverage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
• Good at problem solving and prioritizing

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of Full-Time daily news room experience
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
• Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
• Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience
• Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
• Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air
• Demonstrated creativity and imagination
• Can work well in a team environment; collaborative
