As the NASS Inventory Accounting Lead you will start your career with Mosaic learning about our distribution and inventory services so you can support the monthly inventory accounting journal entry and reporting processes in addition to other related activities for North America Inventory; with emphasis on balance sheet activity.

You will get the opportunity to utilize your cost accounting skills and GAAP knowledge to lead and support the Inventory Accounting team. As you master the inventory area, you will rotate through the other NASS Accounting areas to grow your career and knowledge of Mosaic's business and the impact you can make. What will you do?

• Lead costing/revaluation of $1.4B finished product, raw material and WIP inventories to meet company accounting policies and US GAAP requirements
  
• Lead inventory volume reconciliation in different warehouses throughout North America
  
• Manage Inventory Accounting team to ensure actual costs are calculated correctly in SAP including all necessary cost adjustments
  
• Provide volume/cost inventory variance analysis for inventory management reporting
  
• Approve monthly inventory reconciliations and inventory adjustments
  
• Responsible to ensure internal controls are effective and requirements are being met
  
• Lead process improvement efforts for the NASS Accounting team; working closely with Continuous Improvement and other key parties to implement identified changes
  
• Develop and coach employees in order to retain and expand organizational talent through focused attention and effort
  

What do you need for this role?

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business with emphasis in accounting and/or finance is required
  
• 7+ years' experience in general accounting duties including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, cost accounting and financial analysis
  
• 5+ years people leadership experience; proven ability to lead and develop a team
  
• Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply these principles
  
• Demonstrated understanding of asset, inventory accounting and internal controls
  
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills is required
  
• Willingness to collaboratively challenge the business and create innovative solutions
  
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Highly motivated and self-directed.
