SUMMARY
The Modeling and Simulation Subject Matter Expert (SME) - VBS3 provides support for the Air Force Security Forces Center's (AFSFC), Joint Defense Operations Center (JDOC) requirement for mission rehearsal training through augment reality site specific training. This position maintains simulator and classroom set-up, systems and instructional design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports all phases of user effort such as planning, coordination, preparation, operation and instruction.

Briefs and trains within an unlimited assortment of scenarios that can allow a participant to operate individually or collectively in the virtual environment.

Responsible for scenario development, modification, testing, system initialization, calibration, and set up/reset.

Performs all facets of execution and commander role player functions.

Performs debriefings, hot washes, and after-action reports (AARs).

Performs minor on the spot troubleshooting, maintenance and property accountability. Keeps the work area and equipment clean

Responsible for maintenance of additional systems incorporated with virtual systems (Rollover simulator, JDOC simulator, BDOC simulator).

Plans, designs and implements instructional system design based off Readiness Training Center (RTC) requirements.

The specific scenarios, terrain and 3D models will be developed with the approval of the RTC.

Extracts and reviews mission scenarios in an AAR format.

Performs pre, real-time and post-mission operational checks on the augmented reality training platform for mission rehearsal.

Creates and maintains standard naming conventions. Saves and stores all data for reuse.

Provides instruction on subject matters to support specific efforts as identified by the Government.

Creates a file/database management plan for storage of developed augmented reality training missions, 3D models, and custom scripts.

Analyzes unit performance during gaming lane training and gaming environment exercises through every phase of each mission.

Provides in-depth assessments, oral and written, of unit performance and provides feedback to the unit using the AAR process at the completion of the exercise.

Attends US Army Gaming for Training related courses on an as needed basis as directed by the Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Degree may be waived with expert Modeling and Simulation experience. SME expertise in the areas of SF operations; integrated base defense, base security operations, area security operations and Command and Control (C2). Minimum of 10 years' Army/Marine Corps/Air Force experience, preferably as a military police/security forces member, combat company grade officer or senior non-commissioned officer with a seasoned practical working knowledge or Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED). A strong background in the following areas is required: Base Security Operations, Joint Security Environments and Law Enforcement.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Must have an active government secret security clearance

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or counter-insurgency operations and doctrine is desired
Combat Training Center and/or combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan are preferred but not required
Working knowledge of Gaming software applications is desired
Knowledge of Joint Defense Operations Center (JDOC), Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC), Tactical Operations Center (TOC)
Knowledge on Land Navigation, Base Security Operations and ECP/TCP Operations
Knowledge of Security Forces training and standard/evaluation process
Proficient in utilizing computer applications and simulations related automation to support virtual training
Possesses strong briefing skills and be capable of teaching SF members' basic skills to operate in the virtual environment

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
