This is a hybrid role working from our Seattle, WA Office.

Hourly pay rate is set at $30/hour.

Role overview

The Mobile Software Engineer Intern is responsible for helping us develop our next generation of Android mobile applications. We strive to help our clients navigate the winding road in healthcare by building intuitive, performant, and helpful software. As a developer on our mobile application team, you will be at the forefront of reinventing how we help those we serve.

A day in the life...

  • Work with a tight-knit agile team to design and develop mobile applications in an iterative fashion.

  • Work with Product Management and Development Lead to define the scope and requirements.
  • Work with Development Lead to effectively Design, Architect, and plan the delivery of the proposed scope.
  • Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time with high quality.
  • Implement new features within our mobile applications.
  • Operates effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancements and fixes.
  • Perform thorough manual testing and writing test cases that cover all areas of the apps.
  • Effectively turns design documents and graphics into performant, usable UI.
  • Demonstrates creative, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.

What we are looking for (requirements)

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Computer Science fundamentals, as illustrated through algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Prior Android mobile development experience
  • Fluent in one of the following programming languages (Kotlin, Flutter/Dart, Java)
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with writing unit & functional tests.

  • Familiar with test and automation frameworks (e.g. Robolectric, Expresso, Mockito, etc.).
  • Familiar with GitHub or other versioning control system
  • Familiar with CI/CD process and systems

Bonus skills

  • BLoC design pattern
  • Dependency Injection
  • NoSQL database
  • Tablet and Wear OS development experience
