Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level four Mission Protection Support SME position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The Level Four Mission Protection Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for developing and implementing information operations protocols for STARCOM programs under the U.S. Space Force. This includes analyzing Security Classification Guides, Critical Program Information, and Mission CONOPs, while engaging with Department of Defense leadership and Public Affairs. The SME will assess and advise on Air Force and U.S. Space Force architectures, provide strategic and technical guidance, and oversee project requirements from inception to conclusion. They will also manage and mentor lesser senior staff. The ideals candidate will enhance STARCOM initiatives, promote a positive public image, and ensure comprehensive mission protection and information operations support, thereby strengthening operational readiness and security for the U.S. Space Force.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 15+ years of relevant DoD work experience
  • Recognized industry leader with strong analytical skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to be innovative and creative and capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and interface easily with team members and senior leadership
  • Aerospace/industry strategy experience
Education / Certifications
  • Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MA/MS/ME) degree or equivalent work experience to offset the advanced degree

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
