ECS is seeking a Mid-Level Windows Systems Administrator (TS Cleared) to work in our Fairfax, VA office.

Job Description:
ECS is seeking a Mid-Level Windows Systems Administrator, to support the operations and maintenance of multiple high-profile/mission-essential information systems. This individual will work with minimal supervision to provide on-site system administrator and operations support. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to proactively monitor information system (IS) hardware and software; monitor, assess and recommend improvements to security posture; maintain system readiness; review and recommend changes to documentation such as SOPs, maintenance logs, sign-in sheets and others in accordance with (IAW) Authorization to Operate (ATO) requirements. Assist in the enforcement of applicable security controls IAW the Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253, National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) 800-53 Rev.4, the DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM) and the Joint Special Access Program (JSAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG). Assist Facility Security Officers (FSOs) where applicable. The ideal candidate must troubleshoot and diagnose system issues to provide rapid remediation. Routinely interact with corporate stakeholders and others to communicate status, issues and progress. Provide helpdesk support to users, and support the remediation of escalated / triaged issues. Update documentation to maintain relevance and applicability. Support continuous security monitoring, including participation in activities (e.g. Configuration Change Board (CCB)) to maintain appropriate security posture and perform package updates. Identify areas of potential efficiency improvement to include the development of automated routines. Troubleshoot performance degradation. Engage in actively learning, deploying, and maintaining new technologies. Provide Information Assurance (IA) analysis and certification and accreditation (C&A) assistance required to support executing all steps necessary for validating RMF authorization packages and assure applications/systems maintain a valid authorization. Support includes reviewing security requirements, products, configurations and IA architectures necessary to ensure security architecture and associated accreditation documentation meets Authorization Official (or Designation Authorization Official) requirements. Maintain accurate, steady and consistent flow of information in response to client direction through established processes. Document activities performed during weekly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual continuous monitoring activities. Update Benchmarks and scans IAW control requirements; perform manual STIG/SRG reviews. Provide support during incident response (IR). Forecast and provide End of Life status for accredited hardware and software components. Monitor IAVMs.

Required Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an active Top SECRET Clearance
  • Must possess security certification for the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II in accordance with the Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, DoD 8570.1-M, Appendix 3
  • A minimum of five years performing system administrator (SA) tasks in Windows operational environments to include experience in the following (but not limiting), Microsoft Windows Event Viewer, Bitlocker, Application Guard, Group Policy, Windows Defender and others.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and risk management methodologies
  • Two years experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
  • Thorough knowledge of DODI 8500.1 (Cybersecurity)
  • Must have excellent communications skills; both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Independent worker, self-starter

Desired Skills:
  • Five years' experience working in a DOD environment
  • Experience developing Security CONOPS
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes
