About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Mgr., Materials to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role leads the team to implement supply chain strategies. This role deploys tactical knowledge of purchasing and production scheduling functions, and coordinates the activities and drives the performance in each of these areas. Responsibilities also include strategic planning to manage multiple departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain S&OP planning.
  • Lead inventory control and planning, including coordination of physical inventories.
  • Manage the disposition of obsolete and excess inventory.
  • Manage inventory forecasting and report on variances.
  • Maintains optimum inventory levels.
  • Implement a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leadership skills to create an environment of trust that emphasizes team collaboration and results.
  • Establish and monitor key KPIs for the materials department.
  • Support and lead ERP updates, conversions, and implementations.
  • Drive ERP usage and process consistency across the organization.
  • Lead scheduling activities, including the development of the master production schedule.
  • Monitor and report on the accuracy of production plans and schedules.
  • Manage capacity requirements planning.
  • Manage the supplier certification and audit program.
  • Establish supplier selection criteria.
  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards.
  • Manage the sourcing, evaluation, and selection of new suppliers.
  • Regularly mentor junior team members and train new hires as well as promote mentoring skills in junior supervisor(s), if applicable.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization�s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply chain, Production Management or equivalent work
    experience.


Knowledge / training:
  • Supply Chain certification is a plus to the position.
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Understanding of forecasting and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solver.

Experience:
  • 10+ years experience as a Materials Manager in a complex production environment.
