SUMMARY

The Merchandising Associate, PC is responsible for executing against the merchandising objectives for categories that are key to GameStop's growth. This includes, assisting the merchant team with creating and maintaining vendor relationships, marketing products, developing category strategies and reporting financial results. The Merchandising Associate assists with buying decisions, selection growth, funding negotiations, and overall customer experience improvements. This position will work cross-functionally, collaborating with merchandising, logistics, marketing, and other internal teams to successfully drive projects from concept to in-store and online execution.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist merchant team with building and executing strategic plans for business, requires understanding of key business drivers (e.g., historical performance, industry and competitive landscape, consumer needs)
  • Execute product life cycle management from new product setup through end-of-life sales including promotional and marketing levers that drive product growth
  • Make recommendations on priority areas and new initiatives based on data insights
  • Responsible for weekly vendor reviews and strategic alignment
  • Surface recommendations and execute promotions across omnichannel marketing vehicles
  • Drive profitable growth, ensuring sufficient and timely collection of marketing funds
  • Review of marketing and advertising materials across in-store and online
  • Assist merchant team with category business reviews
  • Assist on new initiatives that will improve the long-term customer experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
  • 2+ years of relevant business experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Proficient quantitative analysis, financial analysis, and budget forecasting skills
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment
