500045 - Attendant is responsible for Weinstein Center Member Services operations during assigned shifts. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent customer service and information to all Weinstein Center members, assigning lockers, distributing and collecting informal recreation equipment, and registering members for programs and services including processing cash/check/Spidercard payments. Creates accounts and enrolls members using the member services software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides excellent customer service while serving as the first point of contact for members.
  • Greets members while checking their membership status for entrance into the facility.
  • Provides current program and schedule information to members by telephone and in-person. Answers questions and distributes printed materials as needed.
  • Utilizes the member services software to enroll members in a variety of University Recreation programs or services.
  • Responsible for daily cash flow through the Fusion program and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enrolls members in the software system and assist members in downloading and using FusionGo app for entry and other communication tools.
  • Understands and enforces University Recreation policies and procedures.
  • Provides accurate membership information to prospective members. Leads tours of the facilities when needed.
  • Distributes and collects informal recreation equipment following all check-out procedures.
  • Documents and assigns lockers and combinations for all locker rooms inside the Weinstein Center.
  • Processes daily racquetball and squash court reservations.
  • Processes all daily guest fee transactions and completion of required paperwork and waivers.
  • Documents and stores all lost & found items.
  • Works with a diverse group of people to include, but not limited to: students, faculty/staff and community members.
  • Advocates for awareness, understanding and the diversity and inclusion of all people in University Recreation facilities, programs and communications while providing a commitment to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Advocates for the educational and cultural benefits of providing diversity and inclusion in University Recreation.
  • Follows all emergency procedures in compliance with the risk management plan. Complies with all University Recreation TEAM Member guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience with cash handling
  • Must be able to perform basic computer functions including internet searching, email, word, excel; must be able to learn FUSION software to perform Member Service functions
  • Current CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Dependable and able to work a flexible schedule
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at University of Richmond
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Some High School
  • Experience with cash handling preferred
  • Experience with customer service/retail preferred
WORK HOURS:
  • Part-time, non-exempt position
  • Monday-Sunday 6am-Midnight ---scheduled as needed
  • This position works less than 1,000 hours per year
